Neuropsychological Testing

We often recommend neuropsychological testing as a first-line course of action to our patients who suspect they are experiencing memory changes.  Since most people haven’t had their memory formally tested since high school, it is tough to tell how smart you ever were and/or whether your cognitive abilities have changed. Therefore, completing extensive testing of your memory, language, calculation, orientation, recognition, judgement and problem-solving skills will help us understand how you are doing today.

It may not be readily clear if you are having a problem or not, but if you appear to have more memory difficulties than those of your age and education-level, and your history does not suggest an obvious reason as to why, we would pursue further testing.
